Pronunciation Gym

No pain, all gain!

Welcome to the Gym! No running, no push-ups. Just your mouth!

This is where you come to practice. You've learned the sounds. You've learned the spelling patterns. You've read texts aloud. Now it's time to work out.

The activities here are short, fun and you can do them in any order. Come back whenever you want — the more you practice, the stronger your pronunciation gets. Choose a workout and let's go!

Workout 1 — Sound Bingo

You know Bingo, right? This is bingo for your ears. Mark the word you hear — but watch out for minimal pairs on the same card!

Workout 2 — Tongue Twisters

Sentences that are REALLY hard to say fast. Fun, silly, and a great workout. 3 twisters per contrast, 6 contrasts — 18 total!

Workout 3 — Memory / Matching

Flip cards and find pairs that share the SAME sound. Match by how they sound, not how they look! 3 game sets.

Workout 4 — Say it Right

Phrases you say ALL THE TIME in English class and in real life. Practice them now — 10 classroom phrases + 8 social phrases.

Workout 5 — Sound Detectives

This time YOU are the teacher! Read a text and find the pronunciation mistakes hidden in it. Identify which words are mispronounced and figure out what went wrong. Three difficulty levels: Easy (3 errors), Medium (4 errors), Hard (6 errors).

Workout 6 — My Progress Tracker

This is your personal pronunciation journal. Come back every few weeks and check in — how are you doing with each sound pair? Be honest, this is just for you. Nobody else sees it.
Click any dot to cycle: red (still difficult) → yellow (improving) → green (confident).

/b/ vs /v/ /s/ vs /z/ /sh/ vs /ch/ /i:/ vs /I/ /ae/ vs /e/ /ae/ vs /^/
Still difficult — can't always hear the difference
Improving — can usually hear it, sometimes get it right
Confident — can hear and pronounce it correctly most of the time
